Google Classroom: For Studio Families Only

Why???

When I teach in-person lessons, I require students to bring notebook to record lesson notes and assignments. It's a simple and time tested method that just works! Online students need a different approach that accomplishes the same goal.

I know, I know. When my own children's teachers first began to drag us into the world of online classrooms, I resented it. As soon as I passed through the inconvenience of the initial learning curve, though, I realized what a benefit the online classroom was. Actually, Google Classroom helped us all! After witnessing the utility of Google Classroom in my own children's education I realized what a beneficial tool an online classroom could be to a piano studio. I couldn't wait to implement it as soon as I understood!

How?

Short answer: create a Google account; use the link/code/email invite that I send you to join the class; check in to the classroom for assignments, videos, resources, etc.

Honestly? Google explains the process much better than I can. Follow this link for the exact steps, and then let me know when you're ready for the classroom link:

What's the benefit?

For online piano study, Google classroom is a wonderful way to send lesson notes and other resources back and forth between teacher and student. It's truly a convenience! Parents, you will have the ability to monitor lesson notes for each of your children through the same classroom, as well as access recordings for the entire family's listening assignments in one location. If you have a question while practicing, this is an easy way for you to send me a message while you're thinking about your assignment.

If you're anything like me, interacting with an online classroom for the first time might require some patience. Once you're through the learning curve, and I'm sure you'll agree that the classroom is a wonderful addition to piano study!
